Peeping Tom is a 1960 British psychological horror film directed by Michael Powell. The film follows Mark Lewis, a lonely cameraman working in a film studio. He is obsessed with capturing fear, an obsession that stems from the bizarre experiments his father performed on him when he was a child.

The film was highly controversial upon its release and received a lot of criticism, negatively impacting Powell’s career. However, over the years, Peeping Tom has been revised and is now considered a masterpiece and a forerunner of the contemporary slasher film.
