Curated by Nick Aikens
With works by susan pui san lok, Didem Pekün and Wendelien van Oldenborgh
‘Rewinding Internationalism’ is conceived as a score across installation, sound, film, archival presentations and live rehearsals. It includes new commissions by artists susan pui san lok and Didem Pekün.
The exhibition sets up a dialogue between the 1990s and today. Works on display in the exhibition draw from source material relating to different social, political and cultural contexts from a decade when the construct of internationalism was in a deep state of flux. Filtered through strategies of sampling, scoring and scriptwriting, and produced during the period of pandemic when the very possibility of internationalism feels so unstable, the exhibition speaks across times and geographies.
