From May 18-26, 1973, Roger D’Hondt organised the first exhibition featuring postcards by artists at his project space, New Reform Gallery in Aalst. This was followed by editions at the Cultural Center Velzeke (June 9-12) and the University of Antwerp (November 27 – December 13) with contributions by artists including Joseph Beuys, James Lee Byars, Johan van Geluwe, Daniel Buren, Wolf Vostell, Yoko Ono,….

In this exhibition, we present a selection of postcards from the various Postcard Shows. The New Reform Postcard Show is the third exhibition in a series of archival presentations exploring stories from the progressive past of Aalst and the Dender region.

Drawing inspiration from the Info~Angel group and the Centre for Societal Renewal, Info~Angel is a series of exhibitions that illuminate the history of Aalst and the Dender region. What lies concealed in our local past? What stimulates (or ‘stings’) us? And what captures our attention?
