Aura

Performance by Gaelle Choisne in collaboration with dancer Kettly Noël and guitarist Daniele Morelli

As part of the film focus programme Swinguerra, a performance by Gaëlle Choisne in collaboration with dancer Kettly Noël and guitarist Daniele Morelli will take place.

The performance reflects the spontaneity of improvisation that forms the basis of the film Aura, made especially for the exhibition Ritual in Transfigured Time. This film is projected on a brass plate with engraved drawings in the exhibition space. The performance, inspired by the concept of transfiguration, is held on La larme arc-en-ciel, a sculpture, stage and chair in the shape of a tear. With its puzzle structure, it refers to the island culture of the Caribbean.

Gaëlle Choisne (1985, Cherbourg, France) is based in Paris and her artistic practice includes a documentary approach using photography and video, combined with the use of raw materials. Through this, she focuses on social and political issues related to the overexploitation of natural resources and colonial history. In 2024, she is nominated for the Prix Marcel Duchamp.

Kettly Noël (1966, Port-au-Prince) is a Haitian dancer, choreographer and actress.

Daniele Morelli (b. 1994, Rome) is an Italian guitarist with an interest in European and South American jazz cultures.
