Last year, the Dutch film museum Eye organized an extensive retrospective of Werner Herzog. Alongside a comprehensive exhibition, this provided an opportunity to restore and screen some of his iconic works on the big screen once again.

We kick off the program with “Aguirre, the Wrath of God” from 1972. Herzog’s masterpiece depicts the madness of a Spanish expedition in the Amazon rainforest, starring the iconic Klaus Kinski. It’s an immersive journey into the dark corners of the human psyche and the wilderness.
